Why We Welcome Dogs
At Driftless Destinations, we believe the best getaways are the ones where the whole family can come along — paws included.
Dogs have always been a big part of our family, so when we created Driftless Destinations, making it a place where guests could comfortably bring their dogs just made sense. We wanted a home where families and friends could gather, slow down, explore the Driftless, and make memories without having to leave an important member of the family behind.
That’s why being dog-friendly isn’t simply an amenity here. It’s part of who we are. 🐾
Lucy - The Heart Behind Driftless Destinations
Driftless Destinations was built with family at its heart, and one very special member of our family helped inspire what this place would become.
Our Great Dane, Lucy, was with us for 15 wonderful years. She was more than a dog — she was family, a constant companion, and part of so many of our memories together.
When we created Driftless Destinations, we dedicated the home to Lucy. Her spirit is woven into this place and into our belief that some of the best memories are made when everyone you love gets to be there.
So when you bring your dog to stay with us, know that you’re staying somewhere that truly understands just how much they mean to you.
Driftless Destinations is, and always will be, Lucy’s place. 🐾❤️
Meet the DD Danes
Great Danes have filled our home — and our lives — with big paws, big personalities, and an incredible amount of love.
You’ll see touches of our Danes throughout Driftless Destinations, from their photos in the house to the little details inspired by them. Each one has been part of our family and part of the story behind DD.
And while some are still creating chaos and memories with us today, others will always be part of the DD family. 🐾
Theo holds one of those special places. His photo hangs in the family room at Driftless Destinations, where he remains part of the home and part of our story.
Around here, once you’re one of the DD Danes, you’re a DD Dane forever. ❤️
Theo ❤️ — Forever a DD Dane
Theo was one of our beloved Great Danes and will always be part of the Driftless Destinations family. His photo hangs in the family room at DD, keeping him right where he belongs — surrounded by family, laughter, and memories being made.
Gone from our home, but never from our family. 🐾
Rosie 🐾 — Our Dane-Poodle Girl
Rosie brings her own special mix of sweetness, personality, and just the right amount of mischief to our family. Part Great Dane and part Poodle, she fits right in with the DD crew — big on love, big on personality, and always part of whatever the family is doing.
Like all of our dogs, Rosie is one of the reasons Driftless Destinations was created to be a place where four-legged family members are welcome, too. ❤️
Quincy 💛 — Our Blondie
Quincy is our handsome blond Great Dane with a big personality and an even bigger place in our family. Sweet, lovable, and always ready to be part of whatever is going on, he’s a perfect example of why life at our house has always included a few extra-large sets of paws.
With his light coloring and unmistakable Great Dane charm, Quincy is pretty hard to miss — and even harder not to love. 🐾❤️
River 🖤 — Our Playful One
River is our almost one-year-old black Great Dane, and “playful” might be an understatement! Full of energy, curiosity, and that goofy Great Dane personality, River is always ready for a little fun.
He keeps us laughing, keeps everyone on their toes, and reminds us that sometimes the best memories come with a little bit of chaos — and a whole lot of love. 🐾❤️
Timber 🐯 — The Baby of the Bunch
Timber is our baby — a brindle Great Dane with the cutest little tiger stripes and plenty of puppy personality.
He’s curious, goofy, playful, and still figuring out just how big those paws are going to get. Everything is an adventure when you’re Timber, and he brings a whole lot of laughter (and a little puppy chaos!) wherever he goes.
Our little tiger may not stay little for long, but he’ll always be the baby of the DD Danes. 🐾❤️

Bringing Your Dog to DD 🐾
We want traveling with your dog to feel a little easier.
At Driftless Destinations, you’ll find a large kennel available for guests, waste bags and cleanup supplies, and outdoor space for those much-needed breaks. Best of all, dogs of all sizes are welcome — because we know family members come in every size. 🐾
Whether your plans include exploring the Driftless together or simply relaxing at the house, your dog has a place here too.
